Physical Dimension Testing
ORS offers physical dimension testing using an automated optical imaging system. This digital system measures and verifies the conformance of a device’s physical dimensions to those specified by the client.
Automated detection and evaluation provide significantly faster and more accurate testing than that which is allowed by a manually operated microscope. Testing that previously took hours, now takes minutes.
A single scan of the device in question enables the system to identify and evaluate the individual physical dimensions of many devices simultaneously.
This capability for reliable, accurate, and efficient physical dimension testing matches the high standard of failure analysis that clients expect from ORS.
A trained engineer uses the device’s dimensional drawing to create a program that defines the dimensions to be measured. The desired measurements may include simple edge-to-edge distance, diameters, concentricity, straightness, roundness, true position, symmetry, parallelism, angles and pitch.
